I feel the need… the need for speed! This Top Gun, and now Top Gun: Maverick, quote feels very appropriate for Microsoft nowadays, as the company has sped up the Windows 11 22H2 rollout.
This latest version of the operating system is the talk of the town these days, after coming out the Redmond gates late last month.
Its rollout is the usual — a calculated drive where the company makes the final bits available to a small selection of users to test the waters. And if no major hiccups are found, only then are more users invited to deploy the newest version.
Well, it seems like Microsoft is confident enough now that it is ramping up the rollout of version 22H2.
Not massively, or something.
But as the newly updated official Window 11 documentation shows, a larger fraction of folks now has access to the 2022 Update. The new status message posted confirms that Microsoft has entered a new rollout phase where more users should get the newest version of Windows 11.
They will be able to do so after checking for updates in the Settings app.
Those who do not bother to check, will be staying on the initial vanilla release for a while further yet, as Redmond carefully monitors proceedings to ensure that no major bug is discovered and everyone gets a smooth installation experience when they do.
Microsoft has also warned that users with computers that are affected by hardware/software compatibility issues will not get the update until the company has a solution or workaround in place.
So, all in all, we still are in the very early phases of the Windows 11 2022 Update rollout, and things will really only kick into high gear in the coming days.
