Windows 11 build 22454 adds a modern menu to Recycle Bin

Windows 11 Build

New week, new builds. Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 22454 in the Dev channel just now, and this version of the preview brings along a few minor UI changes to go with a ton of fixes.

This makes it the second build from the rs_prerelease branch, which is a branch of the Insider program that serves builds of the operating system that are not tied to a specific version. This allows Microsoft to test features that might not make the next version release.

That is, of course, the premiere version of Windows 11 set for arrival next month.

As noted, there is not much in the way of new features in build 22454, which makes sense as these are still very early builds.

The only major change comes in the form of the right-click menu for the Recycle Bin on the desktop. This is accompanied by the addition of the ability to pin a network share in File Explorer to Quick Access without hitting the more options button.

Alongside these are some improvements to the Korean IME.

The list of fixes is substantial, with Microsoft noting that a bunch of these fixes will make their way to the release version of the operating system via servicing updates that will go live after the Windows 11 sees daylight on October 5.

Inversely, a Beta channel build is also taking flight today, but build 22000.184 does not come with many bug fixes for some reason. Odd, considering that this channel is supposed to be flighting builds that are slated for release next month.

Both these builds can be availed from Windows Update, as usual.
