Not your Microsoft account, but rather a Your Microsoft account page to the Settings panel. This is something that has been available in the previous version of the operating system, and build 22489 finally catches up to it.
Windows 10 users got in on this a while back, with a similar implementation providing them with quick access to their Microsoft account.
And now, Windows 11 users also have access to a more refined experience thanks to build 22489 that the software titan has made available to Insiders in the Dev channel of the preview program.
The rollout of this section is currently limited, meaning only a small set of users are able to see this new addition on their build. But as is usually the norm, Redmond is sure to make this feature available to all users in due time.
This is how it looks:
As you can see, the page allows you to view and manage your Microsoft account settings like subscriptions, orders, payment details, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Rewards details, and more.
Microsoft aims to improve the feature through Online Service Packs that are similar to the Windows Feature Experience Packs. The idea being to allow the firm to improve selection features in its latest OS with major updates to the operating system.
But unlike their counterparts, the Online Service Packs are focused on delivering improvements for a specific experience.
Redmond will serve them through Windows Update. This is actually what the company is currently testing for this new Microsoft account page in Settings, and plans to use for other features in the future, which should help keep Windows 11 up to speed with the development.
In addition to this new page, there are other improvements to the Settings panel that include the splitting of the Apps & Features page into two pages. The firm has also renamed the Connect app into the more descriptive “Wireless Display” that lets you know what this feature is all about.
A handful of other minor features are part of this preview version, along with a long list of fixes that are always welcome.
