Windows 11 build 22000.776 here to fix a bunch of issues

Windows 11 Build

Microsoft recently released a new build in the Release Preview channel of the Windows Insider Program, with Windows 11 build 22000.776 arriving packing a bunch of neat little fixes.

For obvious reasons, this particular build focuses entirely on fixes and further improvements, though the software titan has also added in a few new capabilities like Search Highlights, IP address auditing, and a bunch of other welcome goodies.

This new version takes flight as KB5014668.

Deploying this, your system will have a new feature in the form of IP address auditing for incoming Windows Remote Management (WinRM) connections. This release also fixes an issue that fails to log the source IP address and machine name for a remote PowerShell connection.

Search Highlights is another feature that presents notable and interesting moments of what is special about each day. Think holidays, anniversaries, and other educational moments in time both globally and in your region.

As for fixes, there are a substantial amount of bug fixes in this build.

Prime among them is an issue that might cause playback of consecutive video clips to fail in games that use DirectX 12. Redmond also took care of problem that caused certain games to stop working if they used the XAudio API to play sound effects.

There are other notable changes in this preview build.

For example, if you uninstall Windows Terminal, right-clicking the Start Menu on your device should now show you Windows PowerShell. Microsoft also renamed Your Phone finally to Phone Link in the Settings app, while resolving a glitch that caused Microsoft Surface Dial customization settings page to crash.

Enterprise users also got a fix for a certificate issue that creeped up.

Worth a mention here that this is still technically a preview build, so there is a high chance that you will come across various problems when running this version.

But this release definitely brings Microsoft one step closer to the final launch of this major update to production devices in the immediate future.
